Possibilities of sustainable development of the region in connection with Dark tourism

The importance of history, awareness of the horrors perpetrated on human lives, respect and sense of belonging. On the other hand, the commercialization of tragedies, moral irresponsibility or the sale of tasteless souvenirs in places with deep piety. All this characterizes Dark tourism. The aim of the diploma thesis was to analyze three selected areas of dark tourism in the Czech Republic: the Terezín concentration camp, the burned down villages of Lidice and Ležáky and the Orthodox Church of St. Cyril and Methodius in Prague. The purpose of the case study was to elaborate the individual pillars of sustainable development - economic, environmental, social and cultural. The SWOT analysis was used to evaluate the information obtained from the individual pillars analysis. Furthermore, the method of semi-structured interviews was used, which served to understand the issue and to clarify the SWOT analysis.

This thesis deals with the issue of current preferences of young Slovak people in tourism. Its main objective is to find out which forms of tourism they prefer. This objective also contains a sub-objective which aims to define the factors influencing their choice of a form of tourism. Subsequently, an online questionnaire survey is evaluated on the basis of the theoretical knowledge presented in this bachelor´s thesis. It focuses on preferred forms of tourism, specific forms of tourism, means of travelling, and factors that influence young people. The analysis of individual results has revealed that young people prefer sightseeing and experience-based tourism. As for the specific forms, most of them have participated in the dark tourism. A specific product design and recommendations that can serve as an inspiration for a more effective targeting of the given age group are presented in the final part of the thesis.
Potential of Tourism in the City of Forlí (Italy)

The aim of this diploma thesis is to confirm or refute hypothesis whether the city of Forlí has potential for tourism development. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter deals with the tourism in Italy and the Emilia Romagna region. The second chapter focuses on introdution of the city of Forlí, especially its sights. The third chapter analyses tourism services in Forlí and the last chapter is dedicated to trips that can be realized from Forlí, thanks to its convenient location within the region.

The topic of the bachelor thesis is dark tourism as one of the specific (new) forms of tourism. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part includes a definition of dark tourism, states some of its well known attractions and outlines the history and present state of this phenomenon. Some different categorizations of dark tourism are described in the work, especially the categorization by supply. It is based on a theoretical concept of the dark tourism spectrum, which explains why some attractions are "darker" than others. The work also describes possible motivation to the participation of dark tourism activities and states perception of visit to the dark destinations including its social importance. The practical part is focused on finding the Czech Republic citizen's interest in this form of tourism and its potential development assessment.
The proposal of dark tourism development project

Thesis is concerned with the proposal of dark tourism development project. The proposed project locates in Znojmo region. Znojmo region has a considerable potential to develop varied forms of tourism, where falls within also dark tourism. Thesis purpose introduces two ways: First, the feasibility study realizes the potential in Znojmo region. Second, the feasibility study constructs the competent product, which contributes to region development. The product of project presents a nature trail "Tour behind the iron curtain" in National park Podyjí. Market analysis and demand analysis were implemented in the feasibility study. Financial analysis of the project and total costs effectiveness were interpreted in other period. Lastly all aspects of hazard were explored in the project including a total evaluation for investment grant.

The main focus of my diploma work is on putting forward a proposition to develop the Dark Tourism and develop a study whether the project may be vitable of the following aspects such as financial point of view, law of supply and demand, human resoures etc.. The "Museum of execution" was proposed and became the main point in the diploma work. Having carried out all the aspects of the feasibility study, this project was acclaimed as realistic and vitable.

Preconditions of commercial use in tourism of individual´s death

This bachelor thesis deals with the processing the theme Dark Tourism introducing an unusual and so far not very well-known type of tourism in the Czech Republic. The concept Dark Tourism (also known as Thanatourism) refers to visiting sites which offer a presentation of death or suffering and it is identified with visitations to places where tragedies or historically noteworthy death has occurred and that continue to impact our lives. This thesis researches preconditions of commercial use in tourism of individual{\crq}s death. Through secondary resources there was discovered an adequate individual{\crq}s death potential for Dark Tourism activities development. Through a primary marketing research there was implemented a face-to-face questioning with 994 informants. Marketing research results show Czech Republic inhabitants{\crq} attitudes towards individual{\crq}s death activities. The inhabitants expressed their feelings by looking photos of these activities a sites, participation in these activities and interest in a visitation individual{\crq}s death sites. Majority of Czech inhabitants do not visit individual{\crq}s death sites but they manifested their willingness to participation in these activities.

This thesis is focused on the variability of the demand and the development of new trends in the fields of the tourism industry. Special attention is devoted to a new arising trend of the Dark Tourism. This trend has appeared in the end of the 20th century and it has gained the attraction of media, tourists, tourism specialists and other stakeholders. First part of the thesis is concerned with the variety of the tourism industry and the ethic question of the tourism development. The other part contains the Dark Tourism definition and the prevailing motivation for taking part in this tourism trend. Then the thesis is concerned with the Czech Republic, it's conditions and destinations for developing the Dark Tourism. Last part is devoted to research among common tourists and their attitude to the Dark Tourism.
